Zarząd Morskich Portów Szczecin i Świnoujście
Dębicki Canal in the Port of Szczecin
The investment project is one of the flagship projects implemented by the Port of Szczecin. Its aim is to obtain a qualitatively and quantitatively increased potential for general cargo transshipment through the construction of a new Norweskie quay (constituting an extension of the line of the existing Fińskie quay, serving as a container terminal) and the modernization of the existing Czeskie and Słowackie quays, together with the modernization of the technical infrastructure in the immediate hinterland of the quays and the adaptation them to a technical depth of 12.5 m.
Moreover, to protect the shore of Ostrów Grabowski and to extend the further line of the Norweskie quay in the future, as part of this task, it is planned to build an embankment with capping, of a length of approx. 600 m (future name – Duńskie quay).
Currently, the Czeskie and Słowackie quays are the most intensively used general cargo quays in the port of Szczecin, and the scope of the investment project will ensure that their parameters are adapted to handle the largest ships that will be able to enter the port of Szczecin after the modernization of the Świnoujście-Szczecin fairway to a depth of 12.5 m.
