The alteration of Katowice downtown was carried out in two stages. As part of the project, the road system, public squares and technical infrastructure in the Rondo-Rynek zone in Katowice were rebuilt. The result of the work is a completely renovated downtown, which is a showcase of the city.

The project implementation was divided into two stages

Stage I

Modernization of the tracks in Katowice on the section from Plac Wolności to Katowicki Rynek.

• alteration of the tram track (including construction of the pavement surface), catenary system with power supply
• alteration of technical infrastructure (power supply and lighting networks, telecommunications network, gas network, combined sewage system, alteration of the water supply network).

Stage II

Alteration of the road system, public squares and technical infrastructure in the Rondo-Rynek zone in Katowice.

• development of public space, including: construction of new surfaces, planting greenery, construction of fountains, construction of pergolas, roofs, bus shelters, elements of street furniture
• road works, including: alteration of al. Korfantego, Moniuszki, Pocztowa, Młyńska, Teatralna, Warszawska, Mickiewicza, Piotr Skarga and the construction of ul. Śródmiejska and extension of ul. Moniuszko
• construction and alteration of technical infrastructure – alteration of the Rawa river bed.
