The construction of a 9-kilometer section of National Road No. 78 in Kroczyce is a continuation of the Poręba and Zawiercie bypass. The project involves the construction of two roundabouts, including one in Żerkowice, at the intersection with County Road No. 1773S. The scope of the project also includes the construction of access roads, reconstruction of existing roads, construction of sidewalks, exits and lighting. The project will also include complete road markings, protective barriers, fences, acoustic and anti-glare screens.

In addition, it is planned to build a new road drainage system with retention reservoirs and devices for pre-treating rainwater and thawwater. Protective plants will be planted. The project also includes the alteration of the site infrastructure and the construction of four overpasses and underpasses for animals. The new route aims to improve the safety of drivers and residents, as well as take over some transit traffic, which will reduce the congestion on local roads.

The general contractor of the investment project is the NDI Group. All road works will be completed within 21 months, excluding winter breaks.
