Aleja Pawła Adamowicza in Gdańsk

The construction of Nowa Bulońska Północna (today Aleja Pawła Adamowicza) is one of the largest investments in Gdańsk, which connected the Piecki-Migowo district with the southern districts of Gdańsk. The project included the construction of a tram line, a road and a bicycle path with accompanying infrastructure.

The implementation lasted 26 months and its scope included, among others: construction of 2.7 km of “Z” class street, 2.6 km of double-track tram line with drainage, infrastructure accompanying 4 new tram stops, construction of a tram and bus integration hub with a parking lot for passenger cars and bicycles, construction of a tram and bus transfer hub, construction and alteration of street sections, intersections, roads and bicycle paths, sidewalks and pedestrian routes.

The so-called Venetian Overbridge, first of its kind in Poland, was built along the street. This is a unique design modelled on the arch overbridges built by the ancient Romans. The entire structure is novel and innovative and is the result of the work of Polish engineers. What is important for residents is that the structure is well soundproofed, which reduces the noise generated by moving trams. The overbridge was made of 20-meter spans made of reinforced concrete. There are 154 of them, and each weighs 40 tons.
