Two awards for NDI Group in the ‘Construction of the Year’ 2023 competition!
Residential investment Jagiellońska 13 and new transfer centres in Zabrze were distinguished at the award gala in the ‘Construction of the Year’ 2023 competition organised by the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians. In both cases, NDI Group was the general contractor of the projects.
The Polish Association of Building Engineers and Technicians (PZITB) ‘Construction of the Year’ competition has been held for 35 years and is highly appreciated by the construction industry, both contractors and investors. Its aim is to identify and at the same time promote the best buildings and structures on which outstanding execution results have been achieved.
Awards are envisaged in each group of buildings: 1st degree – with the title ‘Construction of the Year’ and 2nd and 3rd degree awards. The Competition is managed by the Organising Committee, appointed by the Presidium of the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians (PZiTB), which appoints the Competition Jury and approves its work regulations.
The first prize was awarded to Jagiellońska 13, whose investor is NDI Development. Great attention was paid to detail and unique arrangement in this project, which was built next to the Ronald Reagan Park by the sea, near the beach in Gdańsk Przymorze. Jagiellońska 13 consists of 13 above-ground floors and two underground floors. It is made up of unique common areas, including a playroom, club room, coffee corner, conference room and co-working space.
– Being aware of how renowned the competition of the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians is, it is particularly gratifying to be awarded the title of ‘Construction of the Year 2023’ for our investment. We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the fact that Jagiellońska 13 in Gdańsk presents itself so splendidly today, and creates a space for its residents to live in well-being. I can assure you that this award will motivate us even more to make our next projects equally good, or even better- said Jarosław Bator, President of NDI Development.
The premium-standard project was designed in the spirit of ‘biophilic design’, which is why both the interiors and the green patio rely on vegetation, natural materials, fabrics and colours. It stands out for its quality, but also for its originality.
The second degree award was given to the NDI Group for the new Transfer Centres , an investment made in Zabrze. In the city centre, at Goethego Street, a building with a total usable area of approx. 10,400 m2 was constructed with bus platforms, a two-level car park and a waiting room. In turn, in the Rokitnica district, at Krakowska and Ofiar Katynia streets, a modern building was constructed with a surface area of around 280 m2, housing a waiting room and service points. Covered platforms and an outdoor car park were also built. Both centres offer the possibility to charge electric vehicles, use the Kiss & Ride zone and ticket machines. The investment was very important for the residents. The new facilities have improved communication and made it easier for passengers to change to public transport. The showpiece of the new centre is a green roof with a terrace and walking area, which is used not only by Zabrze residents, but also by tourists visiting the city. 17 trees and almost 4 000 plants have been planted there.
– We put an enormous amount of work into each of our projects, we want them to serve people for many years, to make their lives easier. The new Transfer Centres in Zabrze are a construction that will be used by future generations, a completely new quality of communication. We have not forgotten about environmentally friendly solutions either. We delivered the project on schedule, although there was a lot of work. This is a great satisfaction. We are glad that our efforts have been noticed, resulting in an award in the ‘Construction of the Year’ 2023 competition,’ – said Marcin Lewandowski, Vice President, Director of the NDI Realisation Division.
The evaluation of the submitted investments in the ‘Construction of the Year’ competition covered, among others, the quality of the works, organisation of the construction and its completion time, technical and technological solutions, work safety and health protection, but also the costs of implementation, formal and legal solutions in the investment process, the investor’s participation in the implementation of the construction facility, or the impact of the investment on the environment and the economy of the region.
These are the next awards for the NDI Group in this prestigious competition. Years ago, the company was awarded for, among other things, the construction of the PKO Bank Polski Rotunda in Warsaw, the construction of Aleja Pawła Adamowicza in Gdańsk, or the implementation of Stage I of the Vistula Spit Crossing.
