The construction of the Plastics Recycling Plant in Krakow is complete!
The new production hall building, the municipal waste storage building and the staff facilities building, i.e. the new objects of the Plastics Recycling Plant in Krakow, are ready. The official opening of the investment that the NDI Group carried out in the ‘design and build’ system for Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Oczyszczania Sp. z o.o. in Krakow has also taken place.
The construction of the Plastic Recycling Plant is part of the Municipal Waste Recycling Centre being built in Krakow. In addition to the construction of the three main buildings, NDI Group’s task as the General Contractor was also the construction of field facilities and space development, including the implementation of the internal road system. An access road to the Plant was also built as a separate task.
The construction site required the demolition of about 10,000 m3 of underground structures from the very beginning, as there were originally a lot of old foundations. There was soil replacement and reinforcement for new foundations, underground utilities and internal roads. In the next stage, construction work began, i.e. the erection of the individual structural elements.
One of the key milestones was to quickly complete the design work, agree and obtain a building permit, and then allow the Investor to start installing process lines in the production hall. Within 18 months as of the date of the agreement, more than 20,000 m2 of facilities were built.
Traditional masonry walls were replaced with a large number of prefabricated elements. This type of action made it possible to significantly speed up the works, which were completed on schedule.
The official opening of the Plastics Recycling Plant in Krakow was the culmination of construction work carried out over the past months. The project will have a major impact on the city’s sustainable development and environmental protection.
