The NDI – Balzola Consortium has submitted the best tender for the modernisation of the tram trackway in Ruda Śląska
The Consortium of NDI S.A. and Construcciones y Promociones Balzola S.A. has placed the most advantageous tender for trackway modernisation in Ruda Śląska in the contract award procedure held. The Consortium tender is valued at PLN 19,990,582.07 gross, and the works will take 15 months.
The project entails modernisation of the trackway in Zabrzańska Street, and the crossings within the city quarters, i.e.: at the terminal in Chebzie, in Asfaltowa Street, Dworcowa Street, Droga do Lipin Street, and Katowicka Street.
The redevelopment will cover more than 3 km of the tramline in total. The scope of the works will involve e.g.: dismantling, laying the new tail track and road pavement, erection of 6 stop platforms, putting in place the traction and power supply installations, and redevelopment of the overpasses.
The investment represents a stage in implementation of the larger project entitled: ‘Modernisation of the tram and trolley infrastructure in the Upper Silesian Agglomeration, appended with the auxiliary infrastructure’.
The project is co-financed from the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment.
This is yet another project to be carried out by the NDI – Balzola Consortium in Silesia. The two firms together
have, since the early 2012 been continuing the redevelopment of the road system, public squares, tram tracks, and the technical infrastructure in the Rondo-Rynek [Roundabout – Market] area, Phase I, on commission from the City of Katowice. The subsequent project entrusted by the Tramwaje Śląskie company consisted in modernisation of the tram and trolley infrastructure together with the auxiliary infrastructure in the Upper Silesian Agglomeration. In January this year the Consortium won the tender for Phase II in the redevelopment of the Rondo-Rynek area in the Centre of Katowice.
