In December 2018, a contract was signed for the alteration of the tram route along ul. Małobądzka in Będzin and ul. Będzińska in Sosnowiec. The project concerned the alteration of a section of the tram route in Będzin along ul. Małobądzka – from Rondo Czeladzkie to the border with Sosnowiec.

The second task included the part in Sosnowiec – from the border with Będzin to the Będzińska tram terminal, along with the terminal and turnouts, as well as along the ul. Będzińska from ul. Zagłębia Dąbrowskiego to ul. Staropogońska. The contract value was PLN 61.8 million gross and its implementation lasted 15 months.
