Grand opening of the new sewage treatment plant in Stary Wiązów

Yesterday, in the presence of local authorities, the ceremonial opening of the investment entitled: “Expansion and alteration of the sewage treatment plant in Stary Wiązów – stage I” took place. The general contractor of the investment project was NDI Energy.

The investment project in Stary Wiązów was divided into two parts. The first one planned to alter and expand the sewage and sludge lines (an averaging tank, two SBR reactors, inter-facility networks, sand screens, a sludge dewatering plant and a shelter for blowers were built). The second one included modernization of existing facilities (main pumping station, modernization of the sewage treatment plant unit) and installation works related to automation and facility control. Finally, works related to landscaping were carried out – internal roads, manoeuvring yards, green areas and fencing.

The works carried out did not interfere with everyday tasks performed at the sewage treatment plant – continuity of work was ensured, which was very important for the Contracting Authority.

The expansion and alteration of the existing sewage treatment plant was related to its period of operation. The sewage treatment plant was built in the second half of the 1990s and the facility has operated for over 20 years. The investment in Stary Wiązów allowed for the expansion of the local sewage system, while the improvement of the sewage treatment process had a positive impact on the quality of the natural environment.
