DCT2 Terminal – the Building Project of the year 2016

The DCT2 container terminal was awarded the title of the Building Project of the year 2016. The project won the first degree award in the category of structures assessed individually.
In terms of the reloading operations, DCT Gdańsk is the largest container terminal in the Baltic Sea. The investment project carried out in the ‘design and build’ formula involved the construction of a deepwater quay ca. 656 m long and down to 17 m deep.

Its total reloading capacity is 3 million TEU, with the embankment itself already accounting for 1.5 million TEU after the first stage of expansion works. The total footprint is ca. 250 000 m2. The works took 20 months to complete.

The Building Project of the Year belongs to the most prestigious national building competitions organised by the Polish Association of Civil Engineers and Technicians.
