Contract for construction of bypass in Kroczyce has been signed

In Kroczyce, in the Śląskie Voivodship, the NDI Group will build a 9-kilometre-long section along National Road No. 78. The investor of the project is the Katowice branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways.

The route will be a continuation of the ring road of Poręba and Zawiercie. Among other things, two traffic roundabouts will be built as part of the project, including one in Żerkowice, in the place where there is currently an intersection of National Road No. 78 with County Road No. 1773S. Also to be completed are access roadways, reconstruction of the existing roads in terms of their collision with the bypass, as well as the construction of pavements, pedestrian and bicycle paths, exits and lighting, vertical and horizontal markings, guardrails, road fencing or noise and noise barriers. The new section will be adapted to the DK78 and thus to carry loads of 11.5 tonnes per axle.

There will also be a new drainage system built, with retention basins and purification devices for rainwater and snowmelt, which will be taken from the road lane. Protective and guiding greenery will be planted.

The NDI Group, as the General Contractor, is responsible for securing and reconstructing the land utilities and constructing a number of engineering structures, including four viaducts, but also culverts for animals.

– This is yet another important road project of the NDI Group in Silesia, and we are very happy about it. This investment will take over a significant portion of transit and regional traffic, so that local traffic will prevail on the new section. This will definitely improve the safety of drivers and local residents,’ said Wojciech Pałczyński, Head of the South Branch of NDI Group.

All work is scheduled to last 21 months, excluding winter breaks.
