NDI with the best offer for the expansion of the National Road No. 94
NDI in consortium with Masfalt Drogomex will expand the National Road No. 94 in Olkusz, in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. The aim of the project is to make traffic flow smoother and improve road safety. The length of the renovated section is almost 4.4 kilometres.
The investment will cover the section from the level of Grodzisk on Staromiejska Street to the intersection of Centralna and Pakuska Streets. The project primarily involves the expansion of the road, and by reinforcing the structural layers of the carriageway, its parameters will be raised to the required load capacity of 11.5 tonnes. A double-span viaduct with retaining walls will be constructed, five culverts and six intersections will be reconstructed. Service roads will also be created. The general contractor will prepare the as-built documentation and, on behalf of the Investor, obtain the occupancy permit.
The expanded National Road No. 94 in Olkusz will also be safer for pedestrians. Two new underpasses will be built in place of the old ones, in the same locations. There will be pedestrian islands and lighting near the pedestrian bridges. New traffic lights, bus bays, pedestrian and cycle paths and noise barriers will be constructed. Street lighting will appear in particular at intersections, bus bays or crossings to improve visibility there. Road drainage will also be carried out. The reconstruction of the DK 94 will improve traffic flow.
The contractor will have 24 months to carry out all the work, excluding winter breaks. The investor is the Kraków branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways. The value of the project is almost PLN 217.5 million.
