Deep in sorrow, we bid farewell to President Jerzy Gajewski Founder and President of NDI Group, our Boss, Mentor, and a Good Human Being. We shall never forget you.

Jerzy Gajewski (15/08/1950 – 26/12/2020)

An outstanding Pomeranian entrepreneur and manager; Founder and President of the NDI Group operating in the construction market. The Group’s member companies have carried through numerous major investment projects in Poland over the last 30 years. To name but a few most important ones, one should list the northern section of the A1 Motorway, revitalisation of the Sopot Centre, construction of hotels of the Sheraton network, the Shakespeare Theatre in Gdańsk, hydrotechnical, infrastructural, railway, and tramline projects all over Poland.

Born in Gdańsk, he graduated from the Gdańsk University of Technology, Faculty of Electrical Engineering. He developed his experience in preparing and pursuing investment processes, as well as his managerial skills both in Poland, and in Iraq and Kuwait where he worked between 1977and 1990.

In 1991, he founded NDI SA, the seed of the NDI Group of today. The Group companies can take pride in a number of prestigious business distinctions, including the Forbes Diamonds. Jerzy Gajewski himself was honoured many times with awards for his business activities. In 2013, he won Golden Oxer award from Pomeranian Employers conferred for undertaking the toughest challenges in construction and going beyond the standard scripts. In 2016, he was distinguished with a special Builder of Pomerania award for all the entire record of his achievements and outstanding contributions to the process of changing the social and economic image of Pomerania towards the positive. In 2017, he was honoured with the Polish Hercules title conferred by the Builder Programme Council for exceptional contributions to the development of modern construction industry in Poland and exceptional professional attitude.

President Gajewski was one of the founders and co-organisers of the European Financial Congress in Sopot, patron of culture and sport. Throughout his professional life, he was also engaged in charity; he supported numerous initiatives, both via the NDI Group, and privately.

Exceptionally charismatic, he was the mentor for many young people building their own professional careers.
