A new natural gas station. NDI Energy starts work in Zambrów

NDI Energy will design and build a systemic, regulatory and metering natural gas station in Zambrów. The facility will connect the natural gas transmission systems of Poland and Lithuania. The agreement with GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. was signed as part of the cooperation between the national transmission system and the transit gas pipeline system.

The investment for the Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. will be carried out in the design-build system. The subject of the agreement is the project documentation development, author’s supervision over the project, as well as the performance of works in the field of technology, engineering and construction works, electrical works, automation and control, including start-up works related to the construction of the Zambrów station.

The station will be designed to transport natural gas in two directions – between the transit gas pipeline system and the DN700 MOP 8.4 MPa Poland-Lithuania gas pipeline. The connection to the infrastructure of the Transit Gas Pipeline System will be implemented on the premises of PZZ-U Zambrów, by connecting to two DN1000 MOP 8.4 MPa gas pipelines located on the side of the existing gas compressor station. The connection to the Poland-Lithuania gas pipeline will be made on the existing Zambrów Underground Blocking and Bleeding System (ZZUP Zambrów), which will enable the connection or separation of gas streams transmitted between the Zambrów Station and the cross-border gas pipeline towards Lithuania.

The gas at the station will be directed to a set of filter separators that stop pollutants, in the next stage to the measurement and control systems, where the amount of gas flowing will be measured, and its pressure value adjusted to the conditions of the system.

“The Zambrów Station will be a particularly essential element of the national transmission system. The aim of the investment is to connect gas transmission systems in our country and regulate them. This is another important investment of NDI Energy,” emphasises Cezary Chruściński, President of the Management Board of NDI Energy sp. z o.o. The value of the signed agreement is nearly PLN 45 million gross. The agreement has been concluded for a period of 23 months from the date of its signing.
