The project involves the development and reconstruction of the headquarters of the State Archive in Katowice.

The investment involves the creation of a complex which will link the existing buildings of the Archive with the new facilities, creating a space for the preservation and exploration of the archival wealth of Upper Silesia. It is also planned to build modern storage facilities capable of holding as much as 20,000 metres of archival material, which will significantly increase the capacity for storing and accessing historical documents.

Moreover, the complex will be equipped with an innovative conference and exhibition centre, which will serve not only as a space for scientific meetings or exhibitions, but also as a place where training courses on the storage and preservation of archival resources can be held.

The aim of this investment is not only to improve the conditions for storing archival materials, but also to safeguard the historical heritage of Upper Silesia and to facilitate access to these valuable resources for all those interested.

The buildings are scheduled for completion in 2026.
